I'm having the same issue as many. Just installed Bitnami yesterday and it was working fine, now my localhost can't be found. I read you have to "manually start the virtual server." Tried a bit of terminal instruction you posted a couple years back but didn't work (it was written on two lines and the exact syntax wasn't clear).This seems to be a common problem but can't find a clear answer to how to get this to work. I'm a newbie with this type of thing.

I just found the answer to my question, and it's actually very simple. If you get the message "Can't find localhost," you probably need to restart your virtual server and MySQL Database, and Bitnami has a graphical tool for restarting. Just to to the Bitnami folder in your Apps folder, and click the manager-osx utility. Then just click the Restart All button.
